Travelling to the NATO School, Oberammergau

Oberammergau is located in the southern part of Germany in the state of Bavaria (Bayern), in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GAP). When in Oberammergau follow signs to the "NATO School". The NATO School is located on the upper part of the Bundeswehr Verwaltungschule IV (BWS IV). The address is: Am Rainenbichl 54.

By Car

From München:: take Highway A95 direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen until it ends in Eschenlohe. Follow B2 to Oberau then turn right at signs and follow B23 to Oberammergau.
From Stuttgart:: follow Highway A8 towards München until the junction Ulm-Eichingen and change to Highway A7 direction Kempten/Lindau/ Füssen. Take exit Kempten and follow B12 direction Marktoberdorf. Change to B472 towards Schongau. When entering Schongau, turn right before the roundabout on B17/B472 direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen and finally change to B23 towards Oberammergau.

By Train

Main station is München Central (Hauptbahnhof) or München-Passing. From there take the train towards Murnau and than change to the train to Oberammergau. More info about trains: www.bahn.de

By Plane

Major airports are München (128 Km) or Innsbruck, Austria (78 Km)

From München Airport by car: take A92 towards München at the junction Neufahrn change to A9 direction Salzburg/München. Follow signs A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen and continue route described above.
By train: take train to Munich Hauptbahnhof or Munich Passing and follow route above via Murnau.

From Innsbruck Airport by car: take B177 Direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen than take B2 towards München. In Oberau change to B23 towards Oberammergau.
By train: take the train towards Murnau and change train to Oberammergau

Welcome to the NATO School!

The NATO School mission is to conduct courses in support of the current and developing NATO strategy and policy, including cooperation and dialogue with military and civilian personnel from Non-NATO countries. The NATO School provides resident courses of instruction in four main disciplines: Operations and Plans, Joint Operations, WMD threats, and Policy. Most courses are one week duration and there are many subjects from which to choose.
