Describe Global Programming:
Given references, the student will be able to describe Global Programming as part of the current NATO Education and Training system in terms of framework, purpose and design, roles and responsibilities, and core processes.
Interpret a Strategic Training Plan:
Given an example, the student will be able to interpret a Strategic Training Plan in accordance with Bi-SCs 75-2 and 75-7.
Participate in a Training Requirements Analysis (TRA):
Given references, the student will be able to participate in a TRA by analysing a discipline landscape and documenting the findings in a final TRA report in accordance with Bi-SCs 75-2 and 75-7.
Participate in a Training Needs Analysis (TNA):
Given references, students will be able to participate in the TNA Analysis Phase in accordance with Bi-SC 75-7.
Explain NATO Course certification process:
Given references, the student will be able to explain the NATO course certification process.
Describe E&T Supporting Sites:
Given references, the student will be able to describe the various Education and Training Supporting Sites available to the basic Global Programming stakeholders.
Describe Quality Assurance:
Given references, the student will describe the components of the ACT Quality Assurance Programme.
Military/civilian-equivalent members in an E&T management position who are assigned or selected for assignment to the NATO Command and Force Structures (NCS and NFS), a NATO Education and Training Facility (NETF) or those Centers of Excellence (COE), Partnership Training and Education Centers (PTEC) and National Training Institutions (NTI) affected by the Bi-SC Education and Training Directive (E&TD) 075-002.

This one-week course is comprised of an overview of the Global Programing framework by focusing on the 5 distinct steps of the development methodology in the Global Programming core processes (Requirements collection, STP, TRA, TNA, ADC). Within each core process, roles, responsibilities, activities, templates and examples will be presented and examined. Lessons will be conducted through interactive lectures on concepts, principles and procedures and will be followed by scenario-based, performance-oriented syndicate work.
This course was created in 2014 to support the implementation of Global Programming, according to the Bi-SC Education and Training Directive (E&TD) 075-002. Reviewed 21 Jan 2020. Graduates will be able to manage NATO Education and Training using the NATO Global Programming Governance Structure, use the GP Development Methodology to identify, define and manage NATO’s performance based E&T requirements, manage NATO Education and Training using the Production Planning Process (PPP), consider the NATO Quality Assurance (QA) measures within the NATO Quality Management System (QMS) and Employ support and resources required to develop and manage effective NATO E&T solutions.During the residential phase, the following methods of instruction are employed:
a. Interactive lecture,
b. problem-based learning in syndicate,
c. online and in-class gaming,
d. guided discussion,
f. study assignment,
g. case study and
h. Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL). Assessement is formative for each segment of content and summative for each PO.
Post conduct: students will be registered to a NATO SAT community of Interest forum (NSO eLearning Platform) where they can access current course content, learning and training aids (decision support tools, micro learning, templates, best practices).
