The aim of this course is to provide NATO members with education and training on NATO's nuclear policy, its associated nuclear capabilities, and the associated political consultation process.

Learning Objectives
NATO Nuclear Policy Strategic Context with Associated Issues and Challenges:
Given references, the student will explain Deterrence Theory within the context of NATO and current Nuclear proliferation challenges in accordance with NATO policies and posture.
National Nuclear Policies and Forces:
Given references, the student will describe NATO, US, UK, and French nuclear forces and polices in accordance with the NATO consultation processes.
NATO Planning, Consultation, and Nuclear Strike Operations:
Given references, the student will describe NATO surety processes, and STRIKE planning in accordance with NATO doctrine and policies.
Course Participants
Military officers (OF-3 through OF-6) or civilian equivalents assigned to undertake staffing positions that fulfil responsibilities associated with NATO nuclear policy.

Methodology
This one-week course is comprised of formal lectures with panel-led question and answer periods. There is one group syndicate exercise on NATO’s nuclear consultation for strike operations.
