Learning Objectives
Introduction to the History of Terrorism:
After successfully completing this lesson, you will be able to: Name the major waves in terrorism. Be able to distinguish the different historical meanings of terrorism from today's. Finally, you will be able to categorize the different movements of terrorism.
Terrorists — Who are they?:
After successfully completing this lesson, you will be able to:distinguish the various definitions of terrorism. Additionally, you can identify not only the different forms of terrorism, but also discuss their occurrences. Last, but not least, you will be able to discuss the roots of terrorism.
How Terrorists work:
After successfully completing this lesson, students will be able to: tell how terrorists are placing their attacks. Furthermore, students will be able to: explain the influence of the media on both the terrorists and the public.Finally, students will be able to: distinguish between the different anxieties and fears.
The Challanges of the New Actors:
After completing this lesson, you will be able to: name the main characteristics of the dilemma between states versus individuals. Additionally, you will be also able to: explain the difficulties states are facing when being confronted with terrorism.
The Impact of Terrorism on NATO and the International Community:
After completing the lesson, you will be able to: classify the difficulties NATO and the international community has to face when trying to address unconventional threats such as terrorism. Furthermore, students will be able to tell measures of the international community and NATO against terrorism.

Methodology
This course gives an introduction to the different approaches of defining terrorism. It offers also an overview on the different form of terrorism, and their variable occurrences. Furthermore this course will discuss the roots of terrorism and if their can be a special terrorist biography identified. It also addresses the problems of new actors and the impact of terrorism to NATO and the international community.
