The NATO Procurement and Contracting 120 is the second course of NATO ADL course series on procurement and contracting. It introduces into the basics of NATO Procurement and contracting especially focusing on contracts and contract handling.

Learning Objectives
Lesson 1:
At the end of the module you will be able to: Identify the fundamentals of the legal process and how they apply to contract formation and administration. Identify the required elements for a legally binding contract. Identify the characteristics of NATO contracts that differ from contracts between private parties.
Lesson 2:
Given responses to a solicitation: Identify methods of evaluation. Determine the analytical techniques that will be used to evaluate contractor’s proposals to ensure that both NATO and contractor get a fair price. Identify the preferred price analysis techniques to review a contractor’s proposal. Conduct price analysis to determine the price fair and reasonable.
Lesson 3:
After completing this lesson, you should be able to: Identify those contracts requiring award by the CAC. Identify the members of the CAC. Explain the CAC procedures.
Lesson 4:
At the end of this lesson, given a contract, you will be able to identify the contract management processes and procedures. In order to accomplish this, you will: Identify the types of modifications. Identify the steps for processing a contract modification. Identify the processes and procedures for exercising an option. Identity the steps involved with processing invoice payments and making advance payments. Identity contract closeout procedures.
Lesson 5:
Develop a quality assurance surveillance plan (QASP). Recognize the processes involved in developing a QASP, methods of surveillance, inspection, acceptance and remedies for unsatisfactory performance. Determine which termination method is appropriate and the procedures required processing each type of termination.
