The course will provide the students with key definitions and a basic understanding of NATO Intelligence as well as the methodologies it uses to support operations. At the conclusion of the course, the students should be able to understand how Intelligence ties into Joint Operations within their HQ.

Learning Objectives

Provide an Overview of NATO Intelligence: This course conveys core concepts about intelligence, as described in Allied Joint Publication 2 series. (Intelligence Publications).
An understanding of the course is considered essential to any Intelligence training for NATO Personnel. These content are useful for other joint functions (and/or Disciplines) interacting with intelligence procedures. Non-intelligence personnel; are encourage to complete this as an introduction to NATO Intelligence.

Course Participants

The course is mandatory for all students attending performing Intelligence roles in the NATO Command Structure and NATO Force structure. Further, it is a prerequisite for students attending Intelligence courses at NATO School Oberammergau as part of the curriculum based approach to learning. Secondary training audience includes, but is not limited to: Senior leaders (OF-7) down to branch head (OF-5) in the NCS; all other intelligence, plans, and operations personnel at the NATO Strategic and Operational commands; NFS personnel are also encouraged to take the course prior to all readiness and certification exercises or in preparation for contingency operations.

Methodology

This 1 hour ADL Course course conveys core concepts about intelligence, as described in Allied Joint Publication 2 series, (Intelligence Publications).
The course is mandatory for all NATO School students who are attending courses of the INTEL Department.
