NATO JISR Operations Awareness Course

The course will provide the students key definitions, basic understanding and explanation of the JISR process that underpin NATO JISR Operations. The students should be able to understand how JISR enables the conduct of Joint Operations within their HQ and can be ccc on all.

Learning Objectives

Understand the JISR Process: Given a presentation on the JISR Concept with the aim, background and benefit and a video to illustrate the support of the JISR process to the full spectrum of NATO operations. Identify and understand key definitions underpinning the JISR process, and demonstrate knowledge of the intelligence cycle and how Collection Requirements are effectively processed through the TCPED steps as well as the main management functions CRM and COM of JISR Process.

Understand the Application of the JISR Process in the context of NATO Operations.: Given a presentation on the JISR process with the key definitions, key roles and responsibilities, management functions and the 5 steps, illustrated by graphics, and video sequences to support understanding and awareness of the complex procedures.

Understand How to Integrate the JISR process in NATO CT&E: Provide a basic overview on the JISR process included into CT&E with an understanding of planning and development of training and exercise play (scenario) including the JISR process into the scenario.

Course Participants

The course is mandatory for all IRM&CM and ISR Operations personnel in the NATO Command Structure and NATO Force structure. Secondary training audience includes, but is not limited to: Senior leaders (OF-7) down to branch head (OF-5) in the NCS; all other intelligence, plans, and operations personnel at the NATO Strategic and Operational commands; NFS personnel are also encouraged to take the course prior all readiness and certification exercises or in preparation for contingency operations.
