NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Course practitioners will
be able to become functional with doctrine, concepts,
organization, technology, and operations, with particular
emphasis on NATO Electromagnetic Spectrum Strategy.
Course must introduce and bridge towards further EW
courses, more specifically focused to Planning and
conduction aspects in EW, drawing a skill-improvement
path in EW

Learning Objectives

SUMMARISE NATO EW POLICY AND DOCTRINE: Given references, students will describe the Policy and Doctrine, the relationship and coordination mechanisms between EW and SIGINT, the SEWOC concept and the different groups dealing with EW in NATO.the different stakeholders operating in the Electromagnetic Spectrum.

DESCRIBE THE EW ASSETS CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY NATO: Given references, students will describe the different assets employed by NATO and NATO countries.

EXPLAIN APPLICATION OF EW CONCEPTS TO NATO OPERATIONS: Given references, students will explain the EW radar techniques and propagation.

Course Participants

The primary target population for this course are military officers (OF-1 through OF-5) and NCOs (OR-5 through OR-9), or civilian equivalent, assigned to a post within NATO. All students planning on attending the N3-21 NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Course must have a basic working knowledge of Electronic Warfare prior to attending this course in order to achieve the course objectives.

Methodology

This one-week course is comprised of three modules that build upon each other. Within each module, discrete steps in the process are explained. Conceptual work will be illustrated with EW lessons learned in NATO ops.
