The aim of this course is to prepare students to apply the manual operational procedures in the NATO CBRN warning and reporting system and to exercise them in the use of manual operational procedures.

Functions and Responsibilities:
Given references, the student will describe the areas, functions, and responsibilities of the Warning and Reporting System in accordance with ATP-45.
Given references, the student will apply meteorological factors that influence a CBRN release in message reporting in accordance with ATP-45.
Chemical Hazard Prediction and Warning:
Given references, the student will demonstrate chemical release hazard area prediction procedures for operations on land in accordance with ATP-45.
Biological Hazard Prediction and Warning:
Given references, the student will demonstrate biological release hazard area prediction procedures in accordance with ATP-45.
Radiological Hazard Prediction and Warning:
Given references, the student will demonstrate radiological release hazard area prediction procedures in accordance with ATP-45.
Nuclear Hazard Prediction and Warning:
Given references, the student will demonstrate nuclear detonation and fallout hazard area prediction procedures in accordance with ATP-45.
Automated Data Processing Systems:
Given references, the student will explain the capabilities, advantages, and operational benefits of current NATO automated data processing systems in accordance with the appropriate software manuals.
Military officers (OF-1 through OF-3) and NCOs (OR-5 through OR-9), or civilian equivalents, who are assigned to a NATO headquarters or agency, or a Ministry of Defence, Foreign Affairs department, or subordinate military headquarters, unit, or agency of any NATO country, which fulfils responsibilities in support of NATO CBRN operations.

This two-week course is comprised of formal and interactive lectures, followed by brief, moderated question-and-answer sessions with practical exercises. Syndicate work and group presentations are included after each lesson block to reinforce learning objectives.
Student will be introduced to Automated Data Processing (ADP) systems. Successful completion of M3-70 is required.
