Learning Objectives
NATO CBRN Defence Doctrine:
Given references, explain the NATO Strategic Concept, NATO`s CBRN Comprehensive Strategic Level doctrine, and other CBRN related documents incorporating the threat environment with its implications on CBRN Defence capabilities and operations in accordance with NATO policy and doctrine.
CBRN Defence Operational Planning Process:
Given references, the student will describe CBRN Defence operational planning process and tools in accordance with NATO doctrine and policy.
CBRN Defence Exercise Planning:
Given references, the student will develop a CBRN defence training and exercise strategy for multinational CJTF components from tactical to strategic levels, applying the system approach to training, the Exercise Planning Guide, and the NATO Exercise Process.
Course Participants
Military officer (OF-1 thru OF-4), NCO (OR-7 thru OR-9), and/or civilian equivalent who is assigned, or selected for assignment, to a NATO or PfP Headquarters, Agency, Ministry of Defence, dealing with planning Advanced CBRN Defence Operations and Exercises, or subordinate military headquarters, or any NATO or PfP unit or agency which fulfils responsibilities in support of NATO/PfP CBRN operations. Waivers to the prerequisite courses will be considered on a case by case basis.

Methodology
This one week course is comprised of formal theoretical lectures (approx. 1/3 of the course duration) followed by syndicate work activities. Based on a dedicated given scenario, the students are requested to plan and develop parts of a CJTF/ operational level exercise focusing on CBRN Defence contribution to the exercise plan. Students will deliver presentations on the syndicate produced documents followed by class discussion and debriefing.
