Aim
Prepare students within all areas of Medical Support planning and specific command functions within or with connections to a Maritime Environment which will enable Maritime Medical Staff Officers and Medical Advisors of Naval Task group / task force (TG / TF) formations, and the operational Maritime Component (MC) level in their functions.

Learning Objectives
Demonstrate NATO Medical Support Planning:
Given a maritime environment scenario, students will demonstrate how specific NATO medical support planning strategy and doctrine fit into the NATO command structure and operational planning process in accordance with applicable directives.
Apply Maritime Medical Support Policies and Doctrine to operations:
Given a maritime environment scenario, students will demonstrate how NATO Medical Support policies and doctrine are implemented in support of operations within the maritime environment in accordance with applicable directives and guidance.
Comprehend Special considerations within Maritime Medical Support:
Given maritime environment scenarios, students will describe unique maritime medical support considerations and planning for specific mission sets, also in consideration to coordinate challenges between different services and branches.
Application of Maritime Medical Support Planning:
Given a specific maritime environment scenario, students will demonstrate all aspects of maritime medical support planning in accordance with applicable directives and guidance.
Course Participants
Military officers (OF-2 through OF-5) and NCOs (OR-7 through OR-9) of any service who will be required to provide medical advice and planning to command in a NATO maritime environment.

Methodology
This one-week course is comprised of lectures and syndicate work. Day 1 is primarily focused on creating a baseline understanding of NATO medical support planning, including a historical context and how NATO strategy, doctrine, and systems fit into the NATO command structure and operational planning process. Day 2 focuses on medical support planning in the maritime environment. Day 3 enlarges the focus to special considerations. Day 4 emphasis is on the practical application of medical support planning information learned from the lessons in scenario-based syndicate work. Day 5 focuses on applying the knowledge gained into a maritime medical support plan briefing to the NAVAL task force commander and the medical advisor
