By Public Affairs Office

On Wednesday 25 Oct 17, the NATO School Oberammergau (NSO) had the pleasure to welcome Lieutenant General Chris Whitecross, Commandant NATO Defense College (NDC).

Lieutenant General Whitecross’ visit was a unique opportunity for the two key educational institutions of NATO to highlight the strong links between them and discuss common future challenges. Colonel Timothy E. Dreifke, Commandant NSO, briefed on the mission and activities of the NSO followed by a round table discussion with Colonel Brian A. Hill, Dean of Academics NSO, and several NSO staff members including Canadian military representatives. During the talks, attendees shared views and discussed subjects of mutual interest, with special focus on Advanced Distributed Learning and NCO Development.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the main academic NSO building led by Colonel Hill, including short drop-in visits to the NATO eLearning Instructional Design Course and the NATO Operations Assessment Course for observation and Q&A sessions. General Whitecross remarked on the responsibility for the two institutions to lead the Alliance through future adaptation.
