NSO at Tag der Bundeswehr

On 09 Jun 18, the NATO School Oberammergau (NSO) supported the Tag der Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces Open House Day) in Murnau, Bavaria. NSO Commandant Colonel Timothy E. Dreifke, US Air Force, and NSO Deputy Commandant Colonel Joachim Schreckinger, DEU Army, engaged with the public. In addition, 14 NSO staff members were in attendance to answer visitors' questions.
The NSO staff informed visitors of its mission, its employment opportunities and the activities undertaken at this unique NATO military body. In addition, members of the Non-Commissioned Officers Programmes Department offered training in the form of educational games, which are instructed in courses to practice and develop leadership skills.
More than 12,000 guests visited the exhibitions at the Werdenfelser Barracks in Murnau.
Under the motto “Welcome Curiosity”, the Bundeswehr opened barracks at 16 locations throughout the country to the public to inform them about the military, career opportunities as well as about current missions and engagements. Around 220,000 visitors took advantage of this offer.
