NATO Senior Officer Policy Course at the NSO

By the Public Affairs Office

NATO School Oberammergau (NSO) conducted the second iteration of this year’s NATO Senior Officer Policy Course from 10 to 14 Sep 18. This course provided senior NATO officers with an evaluation of NATO's current and future security environment. The NSO welcomed participants from 21 Alliance member nations who benefited greatly from the wide ranging topics and perspectives which delivered a comprehensive outlook at current and evolving security challenges. Interactive Q&A, panel discussions, and keynote speakers provided a rich academic environment to critically assess and discuss current NATO policies within the context of the European security environment. Highlighting the week were keynote addresses from Mr. Paul Smith, NATO Senior Civilian in Iraq, as well as the Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, Dr. Antonio Missiroli. Both gave their perspectives and thoughts on current issues facing the Alliance.
