Shuttle Service

Munich Airport Shuttle

General Information

NSO operates a shuttle service for guest speakers as well as students from subsidised Partner Nations between Munich Airport and NSO. Students from NATO nations may use this bus but only if there is space available. This shuttle bus runs every day except Saturday. Saturday arrivals are asked to use rail services to travel to Oberammergau. Students should refer to the specific information provided with the Student Confirmation Message after registration regarding use of the Shuttle Bus. The exact time schedule is shown in the Student Confirmation Message. If you are eligible to use the shuttle service and your seat is confirmed, please retrieve your luggage and proceed to the information booth in Terminal 2 to meet the NSO shuttle driver at Munich Airport.

Guest Speakers

Speakers are asked to coordinate their individual travel arrangements with the assigned Course Director or, if applicable, with the NSO Protocol Office.

Students from subsidised Partner Nations

The NSO provides a shuttle bus transfer for students from subsidised Partner Nations from Munich Airport to the NSO as described above. If students miss the bus and make their own way to Oberammergau, only train fares will be reimbursed. Subsidized Partner Students are required to provide flight itineraries to NSO Student Administration office at least one week before embarking on their trip.

Students should refer to the specific information provided with the Student Confirmation Message after registration.

Hotel Shuttle Oberammergau

The NSO provides students a local shuttle service on Sundays from Oberammergau Railway Station to NSO to in-process and then to their accommodation. The local shuttle meets all in-coming trains as per the timings shown in the info provided with the Student Confirmation Message.

For daily after class transportation as well as the departure times of the Friday shuttle please refer to the shuttle bus schedule in your in-processing package; this you will receive upon in-processing at the student administration desk when you arrive.
